Bronx Veterans Appreciation Day Recap

This past Monday, May 15, 2017 as part of Bronx Week, Bronx Borough President, Ruben Diaz Jr. and The Borough President’s Advisory Council celebrated Bronx Veterans with a breakfast and award ceremony at Maestro’s Catering Hall.

It was a beautiful celebration which honored Bronx Veteran Heroes and organizations, as well as a special segment in remembrance of Bronx County’s Fallen Heroes – Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  Gary Axelrod, Host of BronxTalk and Founder of ThisIsTheBronx.info served as Master of Ceremony.

Another highlight of the morning included words from a 107 year old war veteran in attendance (footage below).  It was such a special day, full of love, appreciation and lots of smiles.  Thank you to Ruben Diaz Jr. and the entire Bronx Borough President’s Veterans Advisory Council for putting together an amazing event for our veterans.

Special thanks to Carmen Rodriguez and Terri Ham for the invite and all of the work that these ladies do surrounding veterans.
